Who we are
This site is run by Cburnettweb, a web design studio based in Acton Vale, Québec. The person responsible for the protection of personal information is Cedrick Burnett, reachable at info@cburnettweb.com or 450-502-9023.
What we collect
Through the quote form: the type of request, your name, phone number, email address and message, plus your town and current website address if you choose to give them.
Through the site assistant (the bubble at the bottom right), an automated program rather than a person: the messages you type and the assistant’s answers. We do not ask for your name or contact details there, and your IP address is not kept.
If you accept cookies, Google Analytics also records your visit: pages viewed, date and time, the referring page, device and browser type, language, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. The IP address itself is not kept.
If you arrived from an ad and accepted cookies, we also keep the technical ad-click identifier assigned by Google or Meta. It contains neither your name nor your contact details.
Why we collect it
Form information is used to answer you: prepare your quote or the check-up of your site, and follow up on your project. A confirmation email tells you your request has arrived.
Assistant messages are used to produce its answers. We review the kept conversations to see which questions come up and improve the site’s answers.
With your consent, browsing data measures site traffic: how many people visit, which pages help, where visits stop.
It also measures how well our ads work, meaning which ad led to your request, so we can decide where to spend our advertising budget.
Your information is never used for advertising mailings or a newsletter, and it is never sold, rented or traded.
Cookies and consent
On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept measurement cookies. Declining is as easy and as visible as accepting, and nothing is pre-checked. Until you answer, no measurement cookie is set and no measurement tool is loaded. If you decline, the site works exactly the same. Your choice is kept for six months and can be changed at any time with the “Manage cookies” link in the footer.
Where your information is, and who handles it
- Our server, at OVH in Montréal, Canada: the site, form requests and assistant conversations are stored there.
- SMTP2GO, our email delivery provider: it carries the new-request notice sent to us and the confirmation email sent to you. Its servers are outside Québec (United States, Europe or Australia); it keeps a sending log (recipient, date, subject) for at most 35 days.
- Anthropic, a company based in the United States: it receives assistant messages to produce the answers. Under its commercial terms, it deletes them within 30 days and does not use them to train its models.
- Google (Google Analytics), with your consent only.
- Meta (the Facebook and Instagram pixel), with your consent only: it receives the pages viewed and the fact that a request was sent.
- AdPilot, the ad measurement tool of our partner BrandNous, hosted on our Montréal server: with your consent only, it passes your name, email and phone, with the click identifier, to Google Ads and Meta to match your request to the right ad.
Information sent outside Québec
Emails about your request go through SMTP2GO, assistant messages are processed by Anthropic and measurement data is processed by Google and Meta, with your consent only. This may take place outside Québec, notably in the United States. Before doing so, we assessed the privacy factors as the law requires, and we limit what is sent to what each service needs. Do not type sensitive information in the assistant.
How long we keep it
Requests are kept as long as needed to follow up on your file and meet our legal and accounting obligations, then destroyed.
Assistant conversations are deleted automatically from our server after 60 days.
Traffic data is kept for at most 14 months.
Ad measurement data is kept for at most 24 months.
Your cookie choice is stored in your browser and expires after six months, after which the banner asks again.
Your rights
Under Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), you may at any time ask to access the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, receive what you gave us in a structured, commonly used technological format, and withdraw your consent. Write to info@cburnettweb.com: we answer within 30 days, at no cost. If you believe your rights were not respected, you may file a complaint with Québec’s Commission d’accès à l’information.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only studio staff can access the requests received. No transmission over the Internet is fully secure, so do not send sensitive information (credit card or social insurance numbers) through the form or the assistant.

The work page links to our clients’ sites, which have their own policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
Changes
This policy may change as the site or the law evolves. The date at the top shows the version in force.
